PowerDev Meeting August 23-24, 2008 in Prague, Czech Republic

This event is a meeting of PowerPC users and developers. Our primary objective is to give an overview of the newly released MorphOS 2.0 running on the MPC5200B/EFIKA and PegasosPPC platform, and let the audience to have an impression of the performance and possibilities of the upcoming hardware solutions based on 8610 and 5121 SoC's by Freescale. Participants will have an opportunity to get acquainted with MorphOS, Linux on PowerPC, as well as Genesi hardware.

Objectives:

• Presentation of the recently released MorphOS 2.0
• To give the idea and broaden the knowledge of Power Architecture
• To display the extraordinary image of MPC5200B/EFIKA, PegasosPPC
• To give the idea of other alternative systems and hardware
• Make people aware of the existence of Genesi and MorphOS
• Make direct contact to developers and talk about ideas or even get projects started
• A view into the future: the MPC5121E (EFIKA 2) and MPC8610 Boards

Prerequisites:

• Basic knowledge of the PowerPC architecture is useful, but not required
• Basic interests and knowledge of alternative operating systems and hardware is useful, but not required
